About me
Hi, I’m Henrik Jernevad.
I live in Gothenburg, Sweden and spend most of my time as a software developer and tech manager. On my free time, I read, hang out with friends, and play the great sport of Ultimate.
Work
I am co-owner and CTO of MindValue, a web development start-up. We deliver customized web sites based on our flexible platform — it could be anything from a simple web page to a full-blown social network.
Before this, I’ve worked professionally with software development outside of school since high school, primarily at Hogia, one of the largest suppliers of business and accounting packages for small and medium-sized companies in the Nordic countries.
Education
I got my primary education at the Software Engineering program at Chalmers University of Technology, a five year program resulting in a Master of Science degree. It provided me with a broad computer science base.
Instead of continuing with my fourth year at Chalmers, I took the chance to study my fourth year abroad. I chose University of Washington in Seattle, which has a great computer science department. I focused on web development, algorithms and artificial intelligence.
Interests
One of my biggest interests is without question computers in general, and software development in particular. However, while I work with that during daytime, I try to do other things outside work. Playing Ultimate and disc golf are two of my major interests outside the technology area. I also love reading and listening to music. And of course, spending time with friends and going out every now and then never hurts.
